High-flying Omanyala eyeing Rabat Diamond League win

Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala has vowed to
win the Rabat Diamond League set for May 28.
The 100m African champion will compete in a star-studded field
that includes world
champion Fred Kerley of USA, Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs of Italy and world
bronze medallist Travyon Bromell.
Others are; Akani Simbine of South
Africa, Yohan Blake of Jamaica, Andre De Grasse of Canada and Chakir Machmour
of Morocco and has promised to floor them .
“I have beaten all of them last year and
this being my second Diamond League; I am going for a win and nothing less. I
am determined to get the victory,” said Omanyala.
On Saturday, Omanyala who retained his
100m Kip Keino Classic title at the Moi International Sports Centre - Kasarani
in 9.84 seconds, has underlined the best is yet to come this year.
“I am in the best form, the form of my
life and I’m not losing any 100m race this year. The main thing is to control
every 100m race I will be involved in this year,” added Omanyala.
Omanyala is also looking forward to the World Championships set
for August in Budapest, Hungary.
“I have put in the work and set the targets, maintaining the form for the next three to four months staying focused is all I need to do, and giving my best always,” he concluded.
