Bandari Youth rope in 12 ahead of FKF Div 2 Northern Zone kick off

Bandari Youth FC have beefed up their squad with 12 new signings ahead of the FKF National Division Two Northern Zone League season 2024/2025 that kicks off this weekend.

The 12 include fast-rising Erisat Kiraido from Shimanzi FC, who notched 11 goals last season and Black Devil striker John Nyanje.

Others are six midfielders Calton Sewe from Kivumbini FC, Elwyin Jamwaka from Super Eagles FC and Mohamed Tsuma from Wayzata FC, Abdulmajid Ahmed of Mvita Youngsters FC, Yusuf Mohamed from Mvita Youngsters FC, Emmanuel Kiman from Green Eagles FC (midfielders).

Sammy Tsuma of Samburu Lions FC, Gilbert Musuku from Delmonte FC, Lucas Mwawuri from KCN Poly FC will be key in strengthening the team’s backline with Dahir Abdukadir from Mafa Academy the latest addition in goalkeeping.

Speaking exclusively to Citizen Digital, Bandari Youth coach Alex Shikanga expressed confidence in the new signings to spearhead the team's dream this season.

“We have followed them for a while, they are young, the oldest with 19 years and they are ready to grow and I believe they will reach the Izzadin and Gitama level.”

“Most of the players are from Serani Secondary School which acts as our feeder team to us and they have already shown great potential.”

The youthful Dockers kick off the season against Rwafa FC at Nyumba Sita ground, Msambweni in Kwale County this Sunday at 15:00 hours.

Bandari Youth have been one of the busiest clubs during the pre-season securing deals for new signings as well as moving on a number of players on permanent and loan deals.

The club witnessed an exodus of players at the end of last season after their promotion from the FKF Coast Regional League.

“Following an exodus of players who moved on to greener pastures our club embarked on a recruitment spree and we have roped 12 players,” said coach Shikanga.

Erisat Kiraido was one of the top performers in the league last season.

The 17-year-old Form Two student at Serani High School, Mombasa contributed to 11 goals for his former club Shimanzi last season, eventually emerging the second top scorer in the league and is likely to be the main attraction this season.

“I’m delighted to join Bandari Youth and I could not hesitate the offer when the opportunity finally opened to come here. I have been training with them for the last couple of weeks and I really feel at home. I'm ready to give my best for the jersey,” noted Erisat.

Bandari Youth FC is a feeder side to the senior team Bandari FC that features in the top tier Kenya Premier League.
