Wetangula gazettes vacancies for Kandara, Garissa Township MP seats
In Gazette notices dated October 27, 2022, Wetangula said the seats became vacant effective from October 26, 2022.
The vacancies follow Parliament's approval of Alice Wahome (Kandara) and Aden Duale (Garissa Township) as Cabinet Secretaries following their nomination by President William Ruto for the Water and Defence dockets.
Wahome received handover notes from outgoing CS James Macharia, who was the Transport secretary and was holding the Water docket in an acting capacity.
Wahome and Duale are part of 24 Cabinet nominees who were on Wednesday appointed by President Ruto.
They were sworn in on Thursday.
Dr. Ruto in a Gazette Notice issued hours after the National Assembly's approval gazetted the names of 22 Cabinet Secretaries, the Attorney General Justin Muturi and Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau.
