National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has poked holes into Public Service CS Justin Muturi's motive in releasing a statement alleging that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) was behind his son's abduction.

Muturi, in his statement, claimed that his son was released after he pleaded with President William Ruto to intervene.

Speaking during Parliamentary Proceedings, the MP questioned why Muturi did not disclose the reasons behind the police arresting his son.

Junet also raised concerns about the timing and wondered why the CS waited seven months after his son was released to point fingers at state agencies.

"If my son is arrested by police, I should also tell the country why he was arrested. Why do you wait for seven months to speak? Why can't you discuss things at that level with the people who are concerned?" he posed.

Junet called on CS Muturi to resign if he felt his views no longer aligned with the government's agenda.

"Public service is a calling and you should do it so long as you have been given an opportunity. When you feel that your belief is not compatible with the government you're serving, the best thing is to resign," the lawmaker noted.

"Don't bring unnecessary fights within the government, be a man enough. If you feel you can’t serve the government anymore, go farming. You can't be a CS who's issuing views to what the government is saying. It's immoral."

During the proceedings, Junet called on the three CS nominees; Mutahi Kagwe (Agriculture), Lee Kinyanjui (Trade) and William Kabogo (ICT) to serve all Kenyans diligently without discrimination.

He also roped in former DP Rigathi Gachagua in his remarks; insinuating that his focus was mainly on a particular region instead of the entire nation.

"There's a senior chief meeting people in Wamunyoro; he's a local chief meeting people there. To the CSs, serve all Kenyans irrespective of their regions," Junet added.
