Kamene said that leaders should uphold the Kenyan Constitution and respect the Judiciary's decree which rejected the speaker's bid to overturn the High Court ruling.
"We understand that the speaker took a case to court which declared that Azimio is the majority. Why don't we uphold our Constitution? Let us see the Speaker do the rightful and honour Azimio as the majority in Parliament," she said.
She also called on Treasury to release funds to counties to deter challenges affecting service delivery. The lawmaker pointed out that the Governors' caucus had also raised concerns over the effects of delaying the funds.
Kamene vowed to lead other legislators in the coming week to advocate for funds to be disbursed by the government. She also appealed to governors to enhance service delivery once the funds are released.
"There's no way the counties will work without resources. I am glad that in the coming week, we will be back in Parliament so that we can push and enquire from Treasury to understand the delay in funds disbursement," she pointed out.
Further, the legislator called on the Kenya Kwanza Government to disburse school capitation on time to enable effective running of operations.
Kamene spoke at Mbukuni Secondary School during a mentorship session where she facilitated the distribution of sanitary towels to young girls from over 16 schools in Kalama, Machakos sub-county.
The mentorship was meant to talk to the youth about drugs and substance abuse that is causing a surge in school dropouts and suicidal cases.
