Safaricom and RMS draw large crowds in Homa Bay through Sambaza Furaha Campaign
The Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan was
on Friday in its fifth day this week traversing the areas of Homa Bay, Rodi
Kopany, Rongo, and Awendo.
As the caravan traversed through the populous
Nyanza areas, it drew large crowds, all eager to enjoy a lively mix of
entertainment and win incredible gateway prizes.
The campaign, a collaboration between
Safaricom and Royal Media Services, is setting the stage for the festive
season, bringing the Christmas spirit to communities across Kenya.
Ruth Atieno, a resident of Homa Bay, was
overwhelmed with excitement when she upgraded from the so called ‘katululu’
phone to a sleek new smartphone.
"Safaricom ilikuja hapa ikasema
tuonyeshe katululu nikaoyeshana na nikashinda…hii katululu yangu unapigia mtu
inazima ata kabla hujamaliza kuongea," Atieno said.
For David Okoth, a resident of Rongo, winning
a chicken was the highlight of the day. With a broad smile, he declared that
the celebrations had officially begun, marking the start of the Christmas
season.
"Mimi siwezi ngoja nimekaa sana bila
kukula kuku," Okoth noted.
The caravan’s next stops grew even bigger as
it made its way through the regions of Rody Kopany, Rongo, and Awendo.
The third phase of this month-long campaign
has seen the people of Nyanza warmly welcoming both Safaricom and RMS
representatives.
"This exciting initiative is part of
Safaricom’s 24th anniversary celebrations, a way to reward loyal customers for
their continued support. On Saturday, the caravan will wrap up the third phase
of the campaign in Southwestern Nyanza, passing through areas like Kisii,
Kaembu, Keroka, Suneka, and beyond," Lucille Aveva, Director Customer
Obsession said.
