MP Mohamed Ali vows to snub UDA grassroots polls, accuses SG Hassan Omar of meddling

Taking to his social media platforms, the lawmaker accused UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar of micromanaging the party's affairs by allegedly handpicking his officials to run the polls. 

He noted that Omar's actions were unacceptable and disheartened Kenyans who believed in the ruling party. 

"The SG’s blatant interference, his evident handpicking of officials to manipulate the outcome, represents nothing but a profound conflict of interest," he said in a post on X. 

"His tendency to micromanage the Party, prioritizing his personal political interests over the will of the people, is not only unacceptable but a grave disservice to the citizens of Mombasa."

The legislator, however, assured his supporters that they would chart a new path if the status quo continued. 

"UDA, like any political party, belongs to the People, not to any single individual, regardless of their position. If he persists in treating the Party as his Personal Property, we will be left with no choice but to decamp as one," the legislator remarked. 

"After all, we are for the people and our allegiance will always remain steadfastly with the people."

The remarks signal growing tensions within the ruling party as it seeks to tighten its hold on the nation ahead of the 2027 elections.
