MP Kanini Kega dismisses Jubilee NDC, threatens disciplinary action against Uhuru
Kega says the convention led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta was illegal as the internal disputes resolution committee had stayed the special NDC pending the determination of a dispute challenging the meeting.
Kega says they will institute disciplinary proceedings against former President Uhuru Kenyatta who summoned the meeting and whom they claim is no longer the leader of jubilee party.
"The participation by the said former officials in any Jubilee activities has no consequences, it is not binding on the party. We wish to inform our MCAs who have received communication from the former Secretary General to ignore such communication," said Kega.
"It is unfortunate that the former President has chosen to be on the wrong side of history by defying a legitimate decision of the party organ and more so he ceased being the party leader on 14th of March 2023 as per section 6 of the Presidential Retirements Benefits Act, he has no powers to call or chair any party meeting such impunity is unacceptable and illegal and it taints the office, the party will not shy against taking action against the former party leader."
