The State has been given the last opportunity to file its responses in a matter where Bomas of Kenya General Manager and CEO Peter Gitaa Koria is challenging his suspension.

Koria was among CEOs of State agencies who were suspended for 12 months following recommendations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) due to ongoing investigations against them.

The respondents in the matter include EACC, Public Service Commission, Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Office of the President and Chairperson Board Bomas of Kenya. Also to file their responses into the matter is the Attorney General.

“I’m giving a final chance for parties to comply, the application will be heard on the 27th of April,” the court directed

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, the court was told that the embattled CEO's suspension was “marred with illegalities and procedural irregularities,” further calling for the stopping of the said special board meeting.

“...unless this Honorable Court moves with celerity and arrests the illegalities and injustices occasioned by the Respondents, the Applicant (Mr. Koria) shall suffer irreparable harm as their right to equality before the law, fair administrative action and labour rights will be curtailed,” he argues.

Mr Koria is reportedly being probed by the EACC for irregularly procuring supplies at the Bomas of Kenya.
