The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) leadership has asked those with complaints regarding the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations to file them within the next four years.

During the release of the 2023 exam results on Monday, KNEC Chairman Prof. Julius Nyabundi announced that the council has offered all Kenyans an opportunity to sort out pending issues.

On the other hand, those with complaints on the 2023 KCSE results have been urged to file them within 30 days, as stipulated in the KNEC Act.

"Anybody who has pending examination matters should take the opportunity that the Council has extended to them within the next four years. Similarly, as we are releasing examination results today, there is provision in the KNEC Act that if anybody has any issues with the results, you have 30 days to engage KNEC to get any corrections or or any clarifications necessary," Nyabundi announced.

The pending complaints will be addressed within the 4-year period, after which the KCSE exams will come to an end as the country fully adopts the CBC curriculum.

During the four-year period persons willing to retake KCSE exams will be allowed to do so.

At the same time, KNEC CEO Dr. David Njengere also announced that registration of candidates for KPSEA and KCSE 2024 will commence on January 29, 2024 and run for two months, up to March 29, 2024.

Admitting that KNEC normally faces challenges during this period, Njengere appealed to all school principals to make sure that all eligible candidates are registered on time.

"Please note there will be no late registration this year. We are not going to extend the registration period even by a day," Njengere warned.

He also urged parents to make sure they schools register their children for the national exams.

903,260 candidates sat for the 2023 KCSE exams.
