According to the residents led by David Muriithi, the animal which was roaming in the area attacked four women as they picked tea on their farms.
"We are living in fear of even taking our children to Kiamugumo and Ngariama Primary Schools," Muriithi said.
Among the four women who were attacked and taken to local private hospitals at Githure shopping centre are Susana Wawira, Marion Wawira, Toronto Macharia and Sicily Murugi.
"There is already an electric wire in Mt Kenya forest and now we are calling on KWS to capture the hyena as it is attacking everybody in the village," Susan Wawira said.
Marion Wawira said the animal attacked her from behind and she was helped by a man who was passing by their tea farm which is near the road.
"We are afraid our children who leave very early in the morning to go to school might fall prey to the wild animals," said Marion.
Residents led by David Muriithi expressed dissatisfaction with lessons that were shared by Kenya Wildlife Service on what Kenyans should do to avoid hyena attacks.
"How can you talk with a hyena? Is it a human being, they are joking with hyenas near Mt Kenya forest," Muriithi said.
