Egg on Foreign Affairs PS Sing’oei’s face after sharing photo with Albanian PM saying it's Albanian president
Kenya’s
Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’oei was on Sunday left with an
egg on his face after sharing a social media post describing how privileged he was to
meet Albanian President Bajram Begaj in Dubai, UAE.
Sing’oei
said he received President Begaj ahead of a meeting with President William Ruto
on the side-lines of the 28th
Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC), which taking place in the city.
“Privileged to receive H.E. Bajram Begaj, President of Albania, ahead of his meeting with President Ruto in Dubai on the sidelines of CoP28,” wrote the Principal Secretary on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, at 12:57 PM.
But the photo he attached to the post showed
him smiling at Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Albania, making social media
users point out the disparity.
Kenyan foreign policy journalist Mwangi Maina
quoted the PS’s post, saying “This is the Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama,
not President Bajram Begaj.”
Sing’oei deleted the post soon after and at
4:27 PM sent out another post identifying PM Rama correctly.
“Privileged to receive H.E. Edi Rama, Prime
Minister of Albania, ahead of his meeting with President Ruto in Dubai on the
sidelines of COP28,” the PS wrote in the new post.

actors.

November 30 and runs until December 12.
