CSs Kagwe, Kabogo and Kinyanjui sworn in at State House
The trio, Mutahi Kagwe (Agriculture), Lee Kinyanjui (Trade) and William Kabogo (ICT), took their oaths at State House following their approval by Members of Parliament on Thursday.
In his speech, President Ruto called on the trio to implement the Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA's) policies that are underway.
He expressed confidence in the three new CSs of their extensive experience to carry out their tasks diligently.
"Without exception, all three CSs have extensive and diverse experience in legislative, and executive facets of our public service," he stated.
"I am confident in the skills and capabilities they bring to their new roles. I served with Hon Kabogo and Kagwe in the National Assembly when they were elected in the 9th parliament and Kinyanjui later joined the legislature in the 10th parliament."
"The Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda is well underway with intensive and extensive work being carried out across the country.
The three CSs were nominated following a reshuffle of Ruto's government last month as part of the State's inclusive efforts to promote national unity.
Kagwe makes his return to Cabinet after serving under former President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure as the health CS.
Kinyanjui served as a one-term governor in Nakuru before losing to incumbent Susan Kihika in the August 2022 elections.
Kabogo, who is synonymous with his tenure as Kiambu governor from 2013 to 2017, will now take over the helm of the ICT sector as he looks to strengthen data protection laws in the country.
