'We have decided to part ways,' Singer Brown Mauzo, Vera Sidika announce break up

Vera Sidika's now-estranged husband, Brown Mauzo, has announced that the couple has called it quits after almost three years of a mostly blissful marriage.

The coastal-based singer, who shares two children with the socialite, shared a post thanking fans for the support, revealing the pair had decided to move on separately.

"Dear friends and supporters, I wanted to take a moment to share some personal news. After much consideration, Vera Sidika and I have decided to part ways," he wrote on Instagram.

"Our journey together has been filled with unforgettable moments, but we have reached a point where it is best for both of us and our babies, Asia Brown and Ice Brown, to move forward separately," he went on.

A stoic Mauzo went on to thank fans for their 'love and support' throughout the much-publicised relationship, noting that both were embarking on a new chapter.

"We want to thank you all for your unwavering love and support throughout our relationship. Your encouragement meant the world to us," he wrote.

"As we embark on this new chapter, we kindly ask for your understanding and respect our privacy during this time."

Mauzo moved in with Vera Sidika after meeting in Mombasa in August 2020 and were blessed with two children, Asia and Ice Brown.

Back in May, Vera Sidika put to rest rumors of a breakup with Mauzo, saying that she wouldn't use a breakup as a publicity stunt.

"Break up clouts are lame, overused and retired. I have never done a break up clout in over 5 years. I always have unique ideas if I want to chase clout and y’all know it, not this!" she wrote. 

"Please just stop forcing it. Not everything in life revolves around clout. I can never do a break up clout, anything else but that. Whatever happens, happens in real life!"
