Tanzanians fundraise to gift Wema Sepetu a car

This comes after Tanzanian personality and Diamond Platnumz’s close friend Aristote Kagombe said Sepetu is broke, arguing that if she were rich, she would be driving, like other top celebrities. 

Kagombe compared Sepetu to fellow Tanzanian actress Irene Pancras who owns a Range Rover, further claiming that Sepetu solely depends on online car apps to move across the country. 

“Kipato hua hakijifichi, kwa mfano tu Irene anaendesha range, wema anatumia Uber, hana usafiri, anarequest na mwenzake anatumia Range,” said Kagombe while speaking on a Tanzanian news outlet on Thursday, January 30.

Sepetu took to Instagram on Monday, January 31, to blast the Tanzanian personality. 

She admitted that although she has not had a car for the last two years, she has been living a comfortable life.

“Kurequest nako ni sawa vile vile maana nakutanaga na mashabiki pia nikiwa kwenye Uber na Bolt, and by the way, miaka miwili sasa sina gari na mbona maisha fresh tu. Mkitembelea nyinyi ma Range inatosha Aristotee, sio mbaya.”

“Ila ifike muda mnipumzishe basi maana I am not in competition na mtu yoyote in my life, niko na deal na Wema wangu tu, sijawahi kushindana na mtu. I have always stood on my own, ” she said.

Sepetu further posted a video on her Instagram stories, sobbing uncontrollably while complaining that people are always talking about her negatively, yet she is just trying to live her life.

“I am just doing my life, sijawai kufuatilia mtu. I try my best kuishi maisha yangu kama mimi but people are always on my case, niacheni,” said Sepetu.

A number of Sepetu’s fans took to her comment section to show support while others were outraged by the comments by Kagambe.

One Tanzanian influencer, @directorjoan, who was touched by Sepetu’s tears, decided to start a fundraiser for the Tanzanian actress.

According to Director Joan, the terrible occurrence is going to be a blessing in disguise for the Tanzanian actress. 

“Machozi yako yametuchoma sana mioyo yetu, nakuomba kuwa strong kama kawaida yako. Hili jambo linaenda kukujenga na kukuweka imara mpaka watu washangae, ” she said.

Director Joan further urged Tanzanians to continue contributing funds towards the common goal of buying Wema Sepetu a car.

"Naomba niwakumbushe bado tunapokea michango yenu,..haya twende kazi mpaka kieleweke hamna kukata tamaa," said Director Joan.
