Kenyan singer Otile Brown is now the first
artiste in Kenya to surpass 1 million subscribers on YouTube.
Otile Brown’s subscribers are currently at
1.02Million, while he has a total viewership of a combined over 255 million views.
The ‘Watoto na Pombe’ hit maker is largely
endeared by the Kenyan audience and especially by the ladies because of his
soft-natured and love-oriented songs.
Otile Brown is known for hit songs like ‘Such
kinda love,’ ‘Chaguo la moyo,’ ‘Niseme nawe,’ and his recent release ‘Woman’
featuring Tanzanian heavy-hitter Harmonize.
Meanwhile, comedian and entrepreneur Daniel
‘Churchill’ Ndambuki holds the top position when it comes to the most
subscribed YouTube channel of a celebrity in Kenya.

Gospel singer Bahati is the second most
subscribed musician in Kenya with his following currently standing at 911,000 subscribers and a combined 153,381,698 views.
Bahati’s YouTube channel is host to his music
and his reality series dubbed ‘Being Bahati’, which showcased his private life
outside music.
The ever controversial Willy Paul currently
has 864,000 subscribers with a total 163,630,762 views.
Some of his greteast hits include 'Liar'
featuring Miss P, 'Hallelujah' featuring Tanzanian female artiste Nandy, as
well as ‘I do’ with Jamaican sonsgtress Alaine.
Afro pop band Sauti Sol holds the fourth
position with 862,000 subscribers and 222,419,888 views.
The band consist of vocalists Bien-Aimé
Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and guitarist Polycarp Otieno.
High-flying rapper Khaligraph has 542,000
YouTube subscribers with a total viewership of 68,588,294.
Khaligraph, who refers to himself as the OG, is
known for hit songs such as ‘Mazishi’, ‘Yego’ etc.
Nyashinski‘s YouTube channel boasts 476,000
subscribers with 90,306,001 views.
Nyash, as he is popularly known, is a former
member of rap group Kleptomaniax which dissolved in 2007.
He was able to make a comeback and hit the
Kenyan music industry by storm with hit songs such ‘Now you know’ and
‘Hayawani’.
Singer and songwriter Nadia Mukami has
442,000 YouTube subscribers with a current viewership of 49,467,437.
As the most subscribed female musician, the
‘Radio love’ hit-maker and self-proclaimed ‘African pop star’ is arguably one
of the most popular musicians in Kenya.
Rapper King Kaka’s YouTube channel comes
eighth on the list of most subscribers in Kenya at 361,000 subscribers, and having
amassed a viewership of 37,266,222.
The rapper has come to be recognized in the music
scene for his poetic wordplay and is known for hit songs such as ‘Wajinga
Nyinyi’ and ‘Dundaing.’
Musician and entrepreneur Akothee has 356,000
YouTube subscribers and 54,928,150 views.
Akothee’s content however ranges from her
music to her travel agency business, Akothee Safaris, and her foundation known
as Akothee Foundation.
Akothee has hit songs such as ‘Give it to me’
featuring Nigerian singer Flavour and ‘Sweet love’ featuring Tanzanian
superstar Diamond.
Kenyan music group Ethic are the tenth most
followed musicians with 355,000 YouTube subscribers and 43,364,035 views.
Ethic group consists of Rekles, Swat, Seska,
and Zilla.
They were one of the pioneers of the
gengetone genre in 2018 with the release of their song ‘Lamba lolo.’
