Jamaican dancehall star Chris Martin has arrived in Kenya for the much-anticipated "Sounds From Africa" festival, slated to go down at the Uhuru Gardens, this Saturday.

The "Weekend Love" hitmaker, who first came to Kenya in 2010, expressed his excitement at returning to Kenya after more than five years, adding that Kenya had become his "adopted home".

"I'm happy to be back again. I first came here 15 years ago and Kenyans have consistently showed me nothing but love since then. I have a deep admiration for my Kenyan fans and I'm glad that, after all these years, they've continued to stand by me and support my music," he said.

The singer also touched on the influence Kenyan music has had on him - as well as Afrobeats - saying that he will continue to work with Kenyan acts and support Kenyan music too.

"I've done a lot of performances with Wyre and Willy Paul. I'm also a huge fan of the likes of Khaligraph Jones and Bien. I listen to a lot of Kenyan music. I especially love the song "Extra Pressure". It has very good vibes and reminds me a lot of Jamaican music."

Martin also promised to throw down a massive performance for his fans on Saturday, adding that he was looking forward to the show.

"I cannot wait to hit the stage on Saturday. I'm calling on all my Kenyans, especially the beautiful Kenyan ladies, to come out in their hundreds, in their thousands, and enjoy the show. It shall be nothing but good vibes and great music," he said.

In the meantime, Chris Martin has revealed that he will spend his time in Kenya visiting the Masai Mara and the Giraffe Manor where he will be looking forward to feeding the giraffes.

"I will also try out some Kenyan foods, especially Chapati," he said.
