Jada Pinkett Smith embraces hair loss condition as she points out bald spot

Actor and talk show host Jada Pinkett Smith is now embracing her struggle with alopecia, a hair loss condition.

The Hollywood actress took to Instagram on Wednesday where she posted a video of herself while bald and pointing out a line that suddenly appeared on her forehead.

"Now at this point, I can only laugh," Pinkett said.

She went on to say "Y'all know I've been struggling with alopecia and just all of a sudden one day..look at this line right here...and this is going to be a little more difficult for me to hide, so I thought I'd just share so ya'll don't ask many questions..."

Captioning the video, the 'Girls Trip' actor said "Mama’s gonna have to take it down to the scalp so nobody thinks she got brain surgery or something..Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period!"

The 'Red Table Talk' host seemed optimistic about the situation and said she would find a way to rock her bald head.

"But you know mama's gonna put some rhinestones in there and I'm just gonna make me a little crown."

Pinkett has always been vocal about her struggle with alopecia, especially on her talk show.

In May 2018, on an episode of Red Table Talk, Pinkett revealed the trauma after discovering she has  a hair loss condition.

"I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my god, am I going bald?'" she recalled. "It was one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear...That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it," said Pinkett

Pinkett said it took a higher power for her to understand that her condition was much more than just losing hair.

"I really had to put it into a spiritual perspective, like the higher power takes so much from people. People are out here with cancer. People have sick children. I watch the higher power take things every day," she explained. "If the higher power wants to take your hair—that's it?... When I looked at it from that perspective, it really did settle me."

Greatly inspired by her twenty-one-year-old daughter, In July 2021 Jada decided to finally let her hair go.

"Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed." Said Pinkett via her verified Instagram page.

The actress has, however, not shied away from accessorizing her hair to her liking, from putting on turbans, to going fully bald, she continues to inspire.
