'You are killing me!' Worker tells court Sarah Wairimu assaulted Tob Cohen multiple times

The witness, Shilindwa Shishemi, told the court about a series of incidents he allegedly witnessed inside Cohen and Wairimu’s home.

The testimony has taken the court inside the home of Tob Cohen and Sarah Wairimu in the days leading up to Cohen’s death.

Shishemi, who worked at Cohen’s home, described several incidents that appeared to point to growing disagreements between Cohen and Wairimu.

Shishemi told the court that, at one point, Cohen asked him to break open a safe so that he could retrieve property documents.

He said that instead, he informed Wairimu, who, according to his testimony, later told him to do everything possible to prevent Cohen from accessing the documents.

The witness also described an incident in which he alleged that Cohen and Wairimu fought.

"Usiku nikakia kelele...kisanga yenye haitatoka Kwa akili yangu you are killing me you are killing me," the witness said. 

Shishemi claimed he saw Cohen bleeding and heard him crying out for help, asking him to use the light from his phone to illuminate the area of his head where he had been injured.

"Tob ako chini lakini Sarah amemfungia kwa kiti hawezi toka ... wakati Tob alipoamaka niliona anatoa damu," Shishemi testified. 

In another alleged altercation, Shishemi told the court that he found Cohen lying on the floor near the staircase, with Wairimu on top of him.

But according to Shishemi, there were other signs inside the house that made him realise that things were not well.

He told the court about changes he noticed in the house, including torn sofas and some of Cohen’s belongings that were missing.

He said Cohen’s bed had been left with only a mattress and a cover.

At the time, Shishemi said Wairimu had told him that Cohen had travelled out of the country.

However, he said his understanding changed after he began hearing reports that Cohen was missing.

Shishemi testified that he later saw reports on television that Cohen’s body had been found in a septic tank at the residence.

It was then, according to his testimony, that he began questioning the earlier explanation that Cohen had travelled out of the country.

The trial continues, with the prosecution expected to call more witnesses. Sarah Wairimu has denied the allegations that she murdered Tob Cohen.
