Irene Kimais clocked 31:52.20 to win the women's 10,000m and seal a slot in Kenya's team for this year's World Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary.

The two-day World Championships trials entered second day on Saturday at the Nyayo Stadium.

World cross country bronze medallist Agnes Jebet settled for the second spot in 31:52.45 while Relin Amanangole rounded up the podium.

Kimais who reigned supreme at the national championships a fortnight ago said she was ready to fly Kenyan flag in Budapest next month.

"I knew it was going to be tough going by the start list but I am happy I have won. I had worked on my speed which propelled my win today," said Kimais.

Jebet, who bagged bronze during this year's World Cross Country Championships in Australia said she is fired up to take the challenge in Budapest.

"My target was to be among the top two in the race. I am now going to work hard to make the podium in Budapest," said Jebet.
