High Court overturns ex-Nairobi finance officer Kiamba’s acquittal

The High Court has overturned a lower court’s decision that had acquitted ex-Nairobi County Finance Officer Jimmy Kiamba of Ksh.17.9 million fraud charges.
Justice Esther Maina on Thursday overturned the said decision to acquit Mr. Kiamba of the fraud and abuse of office charges.
He had been acquitted alongside former county secretary Lilian Ndegwa, Regina Rotich and former head of treasury, Stephen Osiro.
However, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission moved to court to challenge the decision.
The sentencing is scheduled for July 12.
