The title triumph was the highlight of an action-packed evening that showcased the growing strength of Kenyan boxing and underlined the country's emergence as a regional hub for professional prizefighting.
Wasike's commanding performance not only earned him the coveted Commonwealth belt but also strengthened his ambitions of breaking into the world's top 100 rankings and competing for even bigger international honours.
After the match, an emotional Wasike dedicated the victory to the people who have stood by him throughout his journey.
"I thank my wife for always showing up during my camp. I thank God for always being there for me, my team and my manager," said the newly crowned champion.
The electric atmosphere inside the arena was maintained throughout the night as Kenyan fighters delivered one impressive performance after another.
Nicholas Mwangi secured a hard-fought points victory over a determined Tanzanian opponent in a closely contested bout that sparked debate among fans, many of whom felt a rematch should be arranged following the controversial decision.
Undefeated prospect Abdi Beshir continued his rapid rise in the professional ranks, extending his perfect record to 8-0 with another composed display of skill and technique. His performance further cemented his status as one of Kenya's brightest prospects as he moves closer to challenging for regional titles before the end of the year.
Lawrence Okuta thrilled the home crowd with a devastating knockout victory over South Sudan's Majdi in the welterweight clash, once again demonstrating the power and aggression that have made him one of the division's most exciting fighters.
Rodgers "Otii" Otieno also enjoyed a successful outing, securing a technical knockout victory over a Tanzanian opponent to claim honours in the heavyweight category.
The Kenyan success story continued with victories for Gabriel Ochieng, Fred Nyakesha and Emmanuel Njereman, ensuring local fighters dominated much of the evening and gave fans plenty to celebrate.
For Kalakoda Promotions, the event represented another significant step in its mission to develop professional boxing in Kenya and create opportunities for local fighters to compete at higher levels. The promotion has steadily built a reputation for organising competitive international events that expose Kenyan boxers to regional and global competition.
Head of Boxing at Kalakoda Promotions, Marvin Obuya, expressed his satisfaction with the event's success and the achievements of the Kenyan fighters.
"I can say it was a success. The fights were good, and we are happy Wasike got the Commonwealth title. We are hoping for more belts to come into the country as we keep on pushing other fighters to grow and elevate their boxing level," said Obuya.
