President William Ruto has intensified his onslaught against his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta, labelling him a “sponsor” of the United Opposition.
In vowing to defeat the united opposition, whom he claims are proxies of his former boss, President Ruto added that the Jubilee Party leader is a “failure” whom he helped clinch the presidency but who failed to deliver key projects to Kenyans.
Speaking while inspecting the Bukembe-Mutomolu road
construction in Bungoma County on Friday, President Ruto insisted that his predecessor is
the key sponsor of the opposition and is out to undermine his administration.
“Kuna sponsor ametuma wale jamaa wanashindana na mimi...Ni
mafalaaaa sana...Ukiwauliza wanakuambia wametumwa waseme 'one-term'...” said Ruto.
The Head of State vowed to defeat the united opposition,
whom he labels proxies of his estranged predecessor, in next year's General
Election.
“Sponsor wao hajawapea syllabus...Yule sponsor wa wale
jamaa alishindwa na miradi... Hao jamaa nitawashinda asubuhi na mapema," he added.
In likening the Jubilee Party leader to a failure, President
Ruto accused his former boss of failing to implement projects he had promised
but never delivered.
“Yule sponsor wa hii watu mimi nilimbebaa.. lakini
alishindwa kuleta affordable housing na universal health care," Ruto stated.
The onslaught against his predecessor did not end there,
with President Ruto scolding the Jubilee Party leader for failing to
effectively sponsor the United Opposition's political engagements.
“Hawapei hata hao pesa ya kutosha... Sasa wanachanga pesa ya
mafuta na wewe ni billionaire," he said.
Earlier, while presiding over the 2026 National Music Festival Gala at the Bungoma State Lodge, President Ruto announced that education co-curricular activities, namely music, drama and sports, will receive a dedicated budget allocation in a move aimed at promoting skills and talents among learners.
