Kakamega High School rugby head coach backed the national sevens team Shujaa to bounce back stronger next season after failing to earn promotion to the World Sevens Series.

For the third straight season Shujaa will remain outside the top-level sevens series after failing to secure promotion during the three-leg World championship campaign in Hong Kong, Valladolid, and Bordeaux, but Wamanga believes they will bounce back strong and earn promotion.

“They gave a good fight its not easy playing in the same level for that long they learned their lesson and I believe they will take them to the next level,” said Wamanga

This season unlike others, World Rugby reduced the number of teams I the tier from 12 to eight making it hard for teams. Across the three tournaments, Kenya won only 5 games out of 15.

“They are a good team that if give time they will be back to their best they players are young and have played together for long if they stick together it will work,” added Wamanga

The veteran tactician has urged the Kenya Rugby Union to be patient with the current technical bench, insisting on the importance of continuation.

“The technical bench have the experience and knowledge of the game we have seen them develop in their respective position and I believe they have a mission that they want to complete hence the need to be given time “stated the head coach
