Bevalyne Kwamboka is doing just fine.

Barely three months after announcing the suspension of her services, the Nairobi-based street food vendor who went viral for her ‘chips mwitu’ business late last year says she has installed electricity at her parent’s home.

To all my chipo mwitu supporters, we did it,” Ms Kwamboka told her followers via Twitter on Monday.

“Your small small profits zimedropia wazazi wangu stima,” she added, attaching photos of electricians in action, fitting utility poles along a village dirt road.

She further said that despite the large quotation Kenya Power provided for the project, she was able to give her parents power supply through proceeds of her venture.

“Ile quotation Kenya power walinipea, but we made it.”

Twenty-three-year old Kwamboka became an internet sensation after promoting her hustle on Twitter, attracting buyers and supporters alike.

In March, she announced that she was shelving her french fries venture, citing the spike in the prices of potatoes and cooking oil.

Ms. Kwamboka, a teacher by profession, said that her focus will be on matoke as well as part-time teaching gigs.

“Let's focus on afkado n matoke and part time pupils coaching,” she added then.
