Two suspected gangsters shot dead in Gigiri

Two suspected gangsters were Thursday evening shot dead by police at the Limuru Road – Red Hill junction in Gigiri, Nairobi.

According to Gigiri DCIO, the suspects were in a four-man gang but two managed to escape when they were ambushed by police officers who had been trailing them.

Police recovered three firearms and over 100 rounds of ammunition from the gang believed to be carjackers.

“Police officers challenged the driver to stop but instead they drew guns and fired at the officers. A shoot-out ensued whereby two suspects were fatally injured and two escaped on foot towards Red hill road,” said the DCIO.

The bodies of the two suspects were taken to city mortuary as a hunt for the rest continue.
