Two killed, 5 injured in suspected bandit attack in Marsabit

Two people were on Tuesday killed and five others seriously injured after their vehicle was attacked by suspected bandits on the Marsabit-Moyale highway.

The incident, reports say, happened between Bubisa and Rurbi areas where armed assailants ambushed the Toyota Probox before opening fire on the vehicle and its occupants.

Confirming the incident, Marsabit County police boss Paul Rotich explained that law enforcement agencies had already been assigned to the area to track down the assailants who got away after the incident.

The injured, Rotich added, have since been transferred to Sololo missionary hospital for treatment while the deceased bodies’ have been moved to a nearby mortuary.
