Two people are nursing injuries after being attacked by two leopards in Munga Village, Kitiro Sub-location, East Kwabwai Location, Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County.

The two victims, identified as Clinton Ngala and Ford Orwa, were reportedly attacked on Sunday evening after venturing into a nearby bush in search of wild animals suspected of killing their livestock.

According to Kitiro Assistant Chief Okinyi Juma, the two men encountered the leopards while searching for the suspected livestock predators, which turned on them and inflicted injuries.

Orwa sustained serious injuries and was rushed to St Camillus Sori Hospital in Migori County, where he remains admitted for treatment.

Ngala, who also sustained injuries during the attack, was treated and discharged.

The incident has raised concerns among residents over possible human-wildlife conflict in the area, particularly attacks involving wild animals suspected of preying on livestock.

Residents are being urged to exercise caution when venturing into nearby bushes as authorities assess the incident.
