Tusker FC will be out to bounce back strongly when they face Kenya Police in a crucial FKF Premier League encounter at Police Sacco Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Brewers head into the match smarting from a painful 1-0 defeat to AFC Leopards in their previous outing, where they matched their opponents shot for shot but failed to find the net.

Head coach Julien Mette has made no secret of where the focus must lie.

“As always I work on improvement from the last game, and the improvement from the last game is finishing,” Mette said.

“Leopards had eight shots and we had eight shots — same amount of shots but they scored and we didn't. So we have to improve the finishing and focus because the goal we conceded was two seconds late of positional and closing down was a little late. So focus on those little details. It was a tough game and a very good team, so against a very good team details make the difference,” he added.

Mette believes his side has already shown signs of progress since that loss.

“We have improved from the last game against Leopards. The improvement is clear,” he added.

Earlier in the day at 2:00 p.m, bottom-placed Sofapaka will host Bandari FC at Kasarani Annex in what promises to be a high-stakes survival scrap for the hosts.

For Tusker, currently sitting 9th on 37 points, Friday’s clash against Kenya Police is a golden chance to bounce back, close the gap on the teams above them, and keep their top-half ambitions alive.
