Thousands of Kenyans have already arrived at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi to take part in the 62nd Jamhuri Day celebrations, marking the day the country gained its independence.
President William Ruto is expected to lead the ceremony, with Ghana’s President John Mahama among the chief guest.
This year’s celebrations are being held under the theme Tourism and Wildlife, highlighting Kenya’s pride in its rich tourist attractions and diverse wildlife heritage.
