Speaking to Citizen Digital, locals called for action following the sorry state of the roads.
Case in point is the Kocholya-Kotur road which has a huge pothole right at the centre of it, rendering the road impassable.
“It is not the first time that we are raising this issue. It is now a perennial problem. Year in, year out,” Benjamin Ejon said.
According to residents, this has affected business activities, with school-going children bearing the brunt.
“Schools are just about to open. We don’t know how our children will cope when they resume studies,” Bernard Idiama lamented.
Bodaboda operators added that they have been forced to seek alternative routes as they go about their business.
“We visit the repairs shop more often since our motorbikes need fixes from time to time,” Daniel Emojong added.
They further called on the authorities to fix feeder roads to allow ease of movement.
“The situation worsens during the rainy season as it makes it more difficult to navigate,” Lucas Okou decried.
