Stima Darts seeks fourth title on the trot at EA Kampala Open in Uganda

Stima Darts Club has vowed to prove why they remain unbeaten in the East African Kampala Open Championship in the past three years.

The team was flagged off on Wednesday by their official sponsor, Kenya Power, and will be seeking to prove their mettle by securing their fourth consecutive victory in the competition.

Faith Kaberenge, Principal Human Resource Officer at Kenya Power, expressed the company's unwavering support for the team.

“We are proud to support the Stima Darts Team because they consistently bring home top results. Their worst finish is always number one, which motivates us to continue our sponsorship,” stated Kaberenge.

The sponsorship from Kenya Power includes comprehensive travel and accommodation support to ensure that the team is well-prepared for the tournament in Uganda.

“We have provided them with transport and facilitation to ensure they have a seamless experience and can focus on their game,” she added.

Despite the strong support and thorough preparations, Team Manager David Songok remains cautious about the upcoming competition.

“We understand that the Kampala Open will be highly competitive, with every team coming well-prepared. However, we are confident in our readiness and are committed to defending our title,” he noted.

Team captain Samuel Gathura echoed Songok’s sentiments, expressing confidence in the team’s performance at the tournament.

“We are heading to Uganda with high expectations. Our players are in excellent form, and we are determined to bring the title back to Kenya,” affirmed Gathura.

The team is scheduled to travel to Uganda next month, with the tournament set to take place from September 13-15, 2024.
