Two people, among them a standard eight pupil at Migori Primary School in Suna West, Migori County are being held at Rongo Police Station after they were arrested with 190 kgs of bhang valued at Ksh 200,000.

The two were arrested at Rakwaro area along the Awendo-Rongo highway.

Rongo police boss Kisaka Muganda said the minor and his counterpart, Kennedy Otieno, 20, were intercepted at Rakwaro Trading Center by police who were acting on a public tip-off.

The perpetrators were transporting the rolls of bhang tightly strung around their waists using a motorcycle.

Police acted upon noticing abnormal sizes of their bodies, and especially the waist areas.

The minor stuck 94 kgs of bhang in his clothes while his counterpart had 96 kgs.

He also said their preliminary investigation established that the two were ferrying bhang from BondoNyironge in Suna West Sub County to Opapo in Rongo, though the destination is still unclear.

The two will be arraigned in court any time from now to answer the charges.
