The campaign officially kicked off with a tour of Mugumoini Ward in Lang'ata Constituency, where Sonko was accompanied by the party's Lang'ata parliamentary aspirant Faiza Omar and Mugumoini Ward MCA aspirant Vincent Muirigi, popularly known as "Generali."
During the visit, the leaders met residents in the Southlands area, engaging them on the party's development agenda and outlining their vision for Lang'ata Constituency.
Declaring that the "campaign season is officially on," Sonko said the Mugumoini tour marked the beginning of a broader grassroots mobilization drive that will extend to other parts of Nairobi as the party seeks to consolidate support ahead of the polls.
He thanked residents for turning out in large numbers to receive the delegation, saying the reception reflected growing confidence in the party's agenda.
"Our journey starts with the people. Together, we will build a better Nairobi," Sonko said.
The former governor noted that the NEDP would continue holding ward-level engagements across the city as it positions its candidates and expands its grassroots structures in preparation for the elections.
The launch comes as political parties increasingly intensify grassroots activities, unveil aspirants and step up voter mobilization efforts in readiness for the next General Election.
