American streaming sensation IShowSpeed has singled out his Kenyan experience as the most memorable and impactful of all the experiences he had during his 28-day IRL (In Real Life) tour across Africa.

The hugely-popular streamer, real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr, who recently concluded his maiden tour of the motherland, touring multiple African countries and immersing himself in a cocktail of cultures and unique experiences, at first struggled to point out the one thing that truly impacted him in Africa - before settling on Kenya.

Speaking to Yahoo Sports Daily hosts Caroline Fenton and Jason Fitz, Speed was asked to name his favourite memory from his massively successful African streaming odyssey.

"I mean, looking at all of these photos, it just looks like you had such a cool experience. You're immersed with the people, with the culture. If you could name one, what was your one single, favourite memory or story from your trip to Africa?" Caroline Fenton asked.

Speed admitted that being asked to name a 'single' experience was a little tough since the question was 'very broad', acknowledging that a lot happened on the trip.

"My one single, that's a very broad question because there's so much that happened. You are putting me on the spot, but I say the Kenyan, my Kenya visit was so, it was just crazy to me on how much people just came out for me," he said. "I think it was maybe around 20, I think about 30,000 people that came out from the city just to watch me stream and just be alone in experiences with me."

He added, "So they just, I don't think I ever seen that much people ever. And just to think that I could pull such a crowd in Africa, it was just, I was astonished. I'm going to be honest."

Speed's 20-nation tour across southern, eastern and North Africa began in Angola in late December.

He attended the Africa Cup of Nations soccer final in Morocco on Jan. 18, then visited Senegal, celebrating the national soccer team’s victory with fans, and Nigeria, where he passed 50 million YouTube subscribers and marked his 21st birthday.

“I’ve done so many incredible things in my life,” IShowSpeed said during a stop in Botswana. “But this trip is different. It opened my eyes. Africa is not what I thought.”

For his “Speed Does Africa” series, Watkins streamed live on YouTube. In videos lasting up to nine hours, he sampled local dishes, learned traditional dances and challenged athletes, often shouting in excitement.

In Kenya, he visited Nairobi National Park, toured Upper Hill High School, chaotically rode a camel, toured the Mukuru Affordable Housing Project, played basketball with enthused fans, sampled the Matatu Culture and even interacted with Kenyan content creator Gen Z Goliath.
