In a further boost to Kenya’s role in preparations for the global meeting, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dr Abraham Korir Sing’oei has been appointed by the UN Secretary-General as the Host Country Co-Chair of the IGF’s Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG), according to the 2026 MAG membership list released by the forum.
“I am grateful to the UN Secretary-General for this appointment as Co-Chair of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group,” Sing’oei said, adding that Kenya looks forward to “inclusive, transparent, and impactful discussions” as the host nation.
He will serve alongside MAG Chair Jennifer Chung of the technical community, with Kenya’s Special Envoy on Technology, Ambassador Philip Thigo, named as the alternate Co-Chair.
The IGF is the UN’s leading global platform for multistakeholder dialogue on internet governance, bringing together governments, the private sector, civil society and the technical community.
