The fairways of Muthaiga Golf Club will once again become the centre of Kenya’s inter-club golfing action as the 5th Edition of the Patron’s Cup tees off from Friday, August 21 to Sunday, August 23, 2026, with Shabiki.com coming on board as a key sponsor.

The three-day championship will bring together 15 golf clubs competing across five divisions, with the tournament seeking to strengthen its position as Kenya’s premier inter-club golf competition.

The Patron’s Cup is hosted annually in honour of the late President Mwai Kibaki, a renowned golf enthusiast, and has continued to grow into a major fixture on Kenya’s golfing calendar.

Shabiki.com has committed Ksh.1 million towards the 2026 edition, marking the third consecutive year that the betting and gaming brand has supported the tournament.

Speaking ahead of the championship, Muthaiga Golf Club Chairman Mr. Mwirigi expressed his appreciation for Shabiki.com’s continued partnership, noting that the sponsor’s commitment has played an important role in the tournament's growth.

“We are very thankful to Shabiki for coming on board and supporting the Patron’s Cup for three years in a row. Their continued partnership demonstrates the confidence they have in this tournament and in the growth of golf in Kenya,” said Mr. Mwirigi.

He added that the Patron’s Cup continues to honour the legacy of the late President Mwai Kibaki while providing a platform for clubs from different parts of the country to compete at the highest level.

Adding another layer of excitement to this year’s tournament, Shabiki.com has introduced a special KSh 1 million golf jackpot tied to 15 golf games.

According to Shabiki.com Chief Operations Officer Wako Abdi, the partnership reflects the brand’s desire to bring an added dimension of excitement to a sport built around accuracy and precision.

“Golf is a game of precision, and we are very pleased to announce our partnership for the fifth edition of the Patron’s Cup. This year, we have a special jackpot for the golf tournament, with a cash prize of Ksh.1 million to be won,” said Abdi.

“The stake is Ksh.1,000, with 15 games available to bet on. It gives participants an opportunity to put their predictions to the test while adding another exciting element to what promises to be a fantastic tournament.”

The 2026 tournament will see 15 clubs divided into five divisions, with defending champions Muthaiga Golf Club returning to defend their title.

The competition will be structured across the Trophy, Shield, Plaque, Bowl and Mug divisions, creating a competitive pathway for clubs across different levels.

Muthaiga Golf Club Captain Mr. Ben also welcomed Shabiki.com's continued support.

“We much appreciate the sponsorship from Shabiki.com. They have come in as sponsors for three years now, supporting the players’ kits and many other aspects of the tournament. Their continued support is greatly appreciated,” said Mr. Ben.
