The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure of a section of the Nairobi Southern Bypass following a road traffic accident reported on Friday morning, April 24.

In a traffic advisory, KeNHA stated that the affected section is the Ole Sereni-bound lane between Thogoto and Dagoretti Interchanges near Karinde. The authority warned that motorists should expect traffic delays along the stretch as efforts to clear the scene continue.

Drivers who had not yet begun their journeys were advised to consider using the Kikuyu–Mutuini–Dagoretti route, also known as the C63 Road, as an alternative.

The authority further urged motorists to cooperate with traffic marshals and enforcement officers deployed at the scene to manage the situation and facilitate smooth clearance operations.

"KeNHA assures all road users that we are working around the clock to restore normal traffic flow and ensure the safety of motorists," the notice read in part.
