According to a media invitation issued by State House Press Secretary Emmanuel Talam on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the State Concert is scheduled to begin at 8am at State Lodge, Bungoma.
The invitation, issued through the Executive Office of the President, confirms that the event will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, with media organisations invited to cover the State Concert.
Talam, who signed the media invitation in his capacity as press secretary at State House, listed the Kenya Music Festivals 2026 State Concert as the official event and provided details on accreditation for journalists seeking access to the venue.
"For clearance, text your crew details, including the media house represented, ID number, and valid MCK accreditation number,” the statement read.
The event is expected to bring together music students, performers, teachers, cultural groups and other stakeholders involved in Kenya’s music festivals.
The State Concert will provide a platform for showcasing performances from Kenya’s rich musical and cultural traditions while highlighting the role of music and creative arts in nurturing talent among young people.
President Ruto’s presence is expected to give the national music festivals added prominence as performers converge at State Lodge Bungoma for the event.
The Kenya Music Festivals have traditionally provided a platform for students and other performers to develop and showcase their artistic abilities through music, dance and cultural performances.
The Bungoma State Concert therefore marks an important moment in the 2026 festivals, with the event expected to attract performers and audiences as the country celebrates its diverse cultural heritage through music.
State House has also invited accredited media crews to cover the event, with journalists required to provide their media house details, identification numbers and valid Media Council of Kenya accreditation numbers before accessing the venue.
