Ruthless Malkia Strikers whip Mali to continue perfect start

‎This dominant victory gives the Kenyan lasses a second straight victory hence stamping their authority on top of Group A.

‎​At the same time, 2023 silver medalists Egypt continued their unblemished run in Group B with a commanding 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-9, 25-16) over Uganda at Kasarani.

‎The result handed Uganda their first defeat of the tournament while keeping the Pharaohs perfect with their aim now being turning 2023 silver medal to gold.

‎Earlier in the same pool, Senegal picked up their first win of the continental showpiece by overcoming Burkina Faso in straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-20).

‎With all Group B matches completed, Egypt finish top with 9 points, followed by Uganda with 6, Senegal with 3 and Burkina Faso winless at the bottom.

‎​Over in Group C, Cameroon claimed top spot after a convincing straight-sets victory over Nigeria, winning 25-20, 25-15, 25-16 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

‎The defeat was Nigeria's second of the campaign, having previously fallen to Tunisia before rebounding to edge Ghana 3-2 in a five-set thriller yesterday at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

‎Meanwhile, Ghana mounted a dramatic comeback at Ulinzi to outlast Tunisia 3-2 (20-25, 25-18, 27-25, 18-25, 15-12) in another tough Group C battle.

‎​Group D wrapped up with Rwanda producing another stellar display, sweeping Burundi 3-0 (25-6, 25-11, 25-13) at the Ulinzi Complex to complete an immaculate group stage without dropping a single set.

‎Having already dispatched Algeria and DR Congo, Rwanda claimed the maximum 9 points to finish top of Group D.

‎Algeria secured second place in the pool after a dominant 3-0 win (25-12, 25-16, 25-10) over DR Congo, building crucial momentum as the championship moves into the Round of 16.

‎With group matches now completed, Malkia Strikers'  focus shifts to the knock out stage as they aim to extend their flawless record with an Olympic 2028 up for grab.
