Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has dismissed the political association between Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, terming it selfish and of no benefit to the Akamba community.

Speaking in Kitui after meeting 22 Akamba clans, where he was formally installed as an elder by the Akamba Clans Governing Council of Elders, Ruku urged Kalonzo to instead seek a working relationship with President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.

He warned that should the Wiper leader remain rigid, the community should not beg him to change course.

Ruku maintained that President Ruto fought hard to win the presidency and insisted it would be impossible to unseat him after a single term, adding that the Akamba community should rally behind the Head of State for two terms.

On service delivery, the CS accused county governors of sabotaging the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA) in hospitals, saying the national government does not owe counties any debt.

He blamed governors for drug shortages and poor healthcare services in devolved units.

"The issue of patients lacking medicines is not a function of the national government but of governors frustrating implementation," he charged.
