Road to Budapest: Cheruiyot turns on the style to triumph in 1,500m

Olympic 1500m silver medallist Timothy Cheruiyot returned to his best as he triumphed at the World Championships trials in Nyayo Stadium.

Cheruiyot destroyed a strong field to win the race and stake his claim in Team Kenya for the global event to be held next month in Budapest, Hungary.

Olympian Abel Kipsang finished second as world under-20 champion Reynold Cheruiyot came home third.

"I am now injury- free and my target is to reclaim the world title in Budapest. We have a strong team and I am optimistic we will do well," said Cheruiyot.
