Rising Stars thrash Sudan to storm U20 Afcon qualifiers semis

Fast-rising Aldrine Kibet plundered a hat-trick to power Rising Stars into the semi-finals of the ongoing CECAFA U-20 Championship with a 4-0 win against Sudan at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Tuesday afternoon.
Kevin Wangaya scored the fourth goal and his fourth of the tournament as the Salim Babu-led charges moved closer to securing their first ever Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) ticket.
Rising Stars finished top of Group A on 10 points after three wins and a draw, and will face Group B second-placed Burundi in the semi-finals on Friday.
A win will secure Kenya a ticket to the junior Afcon slated for January in South Africa.
The top two teams from each group have automatically advanced to the semi-finals. Thereafter, the two finalists will earn the honour of representing the CECAFA region at the AFCON U-20 tournament next year.
Group A: Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, Rwanda, Djibouti
Group B: Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Ethiopia
