Detectives in Nairobi are probing the mysterious circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting in Karen’s Hardy neighborhood, where a 58-year-old Kenyan-French national was found dead in an incident officially recorded as a suspected suicide.
While initial police logs entry at the Hardy Police Station
categorise the matter as a suspected suicide, the specific details recovered
from the affluent Mukoma Road residence have raised unusual questions for
investigators.
Officers responding to an emergency call on Sunday afternoon
discovered the body of Georges Pierre Samuel Roomoguere in a lower bedroom,
lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head alongside an
unexplained scratch on the left side of his stomach.
Adding to the strange nature of the scene, crime scene
investigators recovered a high-capacity Glock 17 pistol still loaded with 14
rounds of ammunition, alongside two extra magazines packed with 30 additional
rounds, and only a single spent cartridge.
The presence of such a heavily loaded weapon and the nature
of the physical trauma have prompted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
(DCI) in Karen to treat the case with high priority, pending investigation.
The body has since been moved to Lee Funeral Home for a
comprehensive autopsy, which forensic teams hope will definitively clarify
whether the fatal trajectory aligns with self-inflicted injuries or points to
something more sinister.
