Prisons beat rivals KCB in tight contest

Kenya Prisons Saturday fought back to beat rivals KCB Women’s Volleyball Team 3-2((15-25,26-24,25-23, 20-25 and 15-13) in Game Two of the Kenya Volleyball Federation Women’s National League semifinals playoffs at the Kasarani indoor arena, Nairobi.

The result means the two sides will play a deciding match on Sunday.

KCB had won against the war-dresses 3-1 on Friday in Game One.

The winner of the crucial tie will play defending champions Kenya Pipeline who had earlier dispatched Directorate of Criminal Investigations 3-0.

Prisons coach Josp Barasa made two changes in the starting line-up resting middle blocker Anne Lowen and setter Herman Jepyego with Shyrine Jepkemboi and Mackline Okoko taking their place.

Prisons had slow start losing the first set as upcoming middle blocker Pauline Chemtai impressed for KCB.

Coach Barasa would later rest Pauline Ito and Mercy Cherono for experienced pair Pamela Masaisai and Agala.

Prisons took the second and third sets before KCB recollected to bag the fourth set to set up a decider.

KCB took an early lead in the fifth set, but it was Agala who scored for Prisons with serves and perfect reception to enable her team to win the set and the match altogether.
