Heading into this match K’Ogalo had a mountain to climb and
it proved too torturous as they were turned inside out to bid farewell the
competition at an early stage.
Centre-back Ramy Rabia put the hosts ahead in the 23rd
minute before Wesam Abo Ali widened the advantage, nine minutes after the
interval, before Taher Mohamma hit the last nail in the coffin, in stoppage
time, leaving the Kenyan side licking its wounds.
The outcome saw Gor bow out 6-0 on aggregate having suffered
a similar defeat in Nairobi at the Nyayo National Stadium last weekend.
Gor’s exit comes hot on the heels of that of Kenyan Police FC who were also kicked out of the CAF Confederations Cup on Friday after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Egyptian side Zamalek.
Gor and Police will now return home to plot for a better
season in the domestic league with the hopes of a better performance next term,
if they win the tickets to continental club football, again.
