Police in Vihiga County have recovered suspected cannabis sativa and illicit brew following an operation targeting the illegal drug and alcohol trade in Majengo Town.

The officers raided a suspected house in Majengo where they found bhang in different forms and stages of preparation.

They also recovered equipment believed to have been used to process and package the suspected cannabis.

Further search of the premises led to the recovery of 22 yellow 20-litre jerricans containing a substance suspected to be chang’aa.

Police documented and secured the recovered items as investigations continue to establish their ownership and identify those behind the suspected illegal activities.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the National Police Service (NPS) to disrupt the supply and distribution of illicit drugs and alcoholic brews across the country.

Police said the operations will continue as authorities work to identify and bring those involved in the illegal trade to justice.
