Police exhume body of woman killed, buried by boyfriend in Kirinyaga

The body of a 27-year-old woman was on Friday exhumed from a shallow grave at Kianderi village in Kirinyaga Central Constituency.

The deceased, Eunice Wambui, is believed to have been murdered by her lover, 35-year-old Simon Murimi earlier this week.

Police officers were informed by a family member that the suspect had been seen digging a grave which was immediately filled with soil.

The body of the deceased is lying at the Kerugoya mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination, even as police continue their search for the suspect.

The motive of the killing remains unknown.
