Murang’a lawyer rescued, three kidnappers gunned down

Police in Murang’a County have rescued a lawyer who was kidnapped on Saturday night at 10 pm by six armed gangsters.

Acting on a tip-off,  Murang’a police officers together with CID officers managed to flop the kidnap gunning down 3 suspects during the shootout that lasted an hour.

Lawyer Charles Mbugua Wanjiru, who operates a law firm in Murang’a town, had recorded a statement at Murang’a police station previously stating that he has been receiving texts from unknown people demanding for money from him.

Since then, the CID officers have been pursuing the case in an effort of bringing to book the 3 suspects who managed to escape and the mastermind whom they acted on his behalf.

While confirming the incident,  Muranga North DCIO Japheth Maingi also told Citizen Digital that an AK 47 gun a another homemade gun were recovered during the operation.
