Gov't increases Museum entry fees: New price list

In a notice on May 6, 2026, the National Museums of Kenya announced changes to its Heritage Facilities admission fees with effect from May 7, 2026.
As per the updated fee structure, Kenyan citizens, East African residents and non-residents will dig deeper into their pockets to access national museums across Kenya.
The revision has seen the entry fee of Nairobi National Museum and Snake Park rise from Ksh.200 to Ksh. 350 for adults and twice the amount of Ksh.200 for children below 16 years.
A combined ticket for Kenyan citizens entering the two parks has doubled to Ksh.600 and Ksh.300 for adults and children, respectively.
The entry fee of the Nairobi Gallery has been doubled to Ksh. 300 for adults and Ksh.200 for children.
The new price list has also raised the entry fee for the Karen Blixen Museum and Fort Jesus Museum from Ksh.200 (adults) and Ksh. 100 (kids) to Ksh. 550 and Ksh.300 respectively. On the other hand, a combined ticket for Fort Jesus Museum & Butterfly House will retail at Ksh.650 for adults and Ksh.400 for children.
In the revised structure, the entry fees for Meru, Malindi, Kabarnet, Kapenguria, Gede Ruins, Butterfly House, Mnarani Ruins, Mtwapa Heritage Site, Kariandusi, Orlorgesaile, Koobi Fora, Thimlich Ohinga, Jumba Ruins, Takwa Ruins, Jomo Kenyatta House Maralal, Jomo Kenyatta House Lodwar & Jomo Kenyatta Prison Lokitaung will be Ksh.200 for adults and Ksh.100 for children who are Kenyan citizens.
Kenyan citizens will now pay Ksh. 200 (adults) and Ksh.100 (kids) to enter Lamu Fort, Lamu Museum, Swahili House & German Post Office, with Ksh. 750 (adults) and Ksh. 400 (kids) for a package to enter Lamu Museum, Lamu Fort, Swahili House and German Post Office.
Under the new schedule, entry fees for Hyrax Hill and Rabai remained unchanged for Kenyan citizens; Ksh.100 for adults and Ksh.50 for children below 16 years.
